SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCEJTEs only want ALTs who have great skills
November 21st and 22nd
Shiojiri Comprehensive Education Center
We are getting closer to the SDC! You should have already received some information so be sure to check your inboxes.
But keep hitting refresh because more information is coming soon with workshop details, meal selections, and much more!
A few notes about this year's SDC:
1. There is the option to return home and not stay overnight
2. JHS ALTs/JTEs will not be staying at the ryokan, but at the Sogo Center. However don't let this stop your JTE from coming. Still ask (beg) your JTE to come because it will be well worth their time!
3. Volunteers still needed! If you are looking for a chance to show off your leadership and boost your resume volunteer as a Group Leader. There a couple spots still available!!
Please contact Stephen at the kencho if you have any questions or concerns!
Female Counselor of NaganoAs introduced at the Matsumoto meeting we now have a female counselor for our special lady ALTs!
Hey Ladies,
As you know, we have two lovely male PAs to guide and help us through this year. For any reason you feel that you would rather speak to a fellow female about anything, I’m your woman.
I have been in Japan for over two years now, and in that time I have experienced my fair share as a woman living in the inaka countryside of Nagano. I suggested to Stephen and Sorin that we have a female counselor because in the past I discussed many questions with the previous female PAs that I wouldn’t have felt comfortable discussing with a male. If you have any questions, or problems, or if you just want to have a good heart to heart conversation with me, I’m here for you. Please don’t hesitate. I know what it’s like to live alone, but you should never feel alone. The PAs and I are here to listen to you when you need it.
Also, I have acquired some knowledge about women’s health issues, so if you want a recommendation of a good doctor in your area, I can guide you in the right direction either from personal experience or from a friend’s recommendation.
Keep in touch! Feel free to contact me, or approach me at any of the upcoming JET meetings.
