From the Great White North (that big country above America), I rolled into Nagano with
my essential touque, snowboard, and moccasins, prepared for the winter season
at 940m in my small mountain village, Koumi. Some folks around here say I talk
funny when I ask, "Hey, what's that all aboot?"
Whatever, my Junior High students can understand my accent, and that's all that
matters, eh? I love it here, and when it's not snowing, I'm usually running, since
I left my sled n' huskies in Canada and I like to give my Pejaro Mini a rest when I'm not
steering it to various adventure locations across the ken.
I look forward to doing some 'Block Leading,' so if you ever want to get amongst it
in the Saku-area, or do anything outdoorsy anywhere, give me a shout!
Adieu.

Friends, ALTs, countrymen, lend me your reading eyes. For times unnumbered
we labored like beasts in the hot sun under the previous Block Leaders, yet
scarcely knew the sweat of our own brows, and knew the lash of spite as
animals uncared for--but I come not to censure the tyrants, but to bury
them. Like generations of leaves, the lives of mortal men, as Homer says.
The future gleams, breaking like a ray on the horizon, and we need only stir
ours weary eyes to meet the coming day. And I, a mere philosopher-poet,
humble in expression as I am, promise to stand with you sleepers awakened
and count the dawning hours, seeing no glass unfilled, no wine untasted. *Per aspera ad astra. *
